Vision at Corona’s End?
Where’s this Corona thing going to end?
What is the long view?
What is the trend?
Is what we’re hearing false or true,
Th’advice and dictates on which lives may depend
(Where all ‘failings’ trace back to me and to you?)
Government games on television.
Those are the ‘truths’ that I can see.
Behaviours open to public derision,
And a censored and silenced BBC.
Oh Public! Unlock your inner vision!
Survival’s now down just to thee and to me.
We’ll need more than a fix for Coronavirus
For Winter is coming in more ways than one.
All our views were faulty, our lives too desirous,
Mankind blind to a future that won’t be much fun.
We’ll need Leaders with vision and truth to inspire us,
For We are Earth’s virus and Death’s ‘job’ will be done.
This was written in October 2020 as the second wave of the covid 19 virus began to take hold and the poor old public were still feeling very confused. I wrote this for them and for my own therapy!
